Leather Chaise from Royal House of Hanover
A rare opportunity to own a fantastic piece of Royal history. This undulating and beautifully formed leather chaise was originally owned by the Royal House of Hanover and has direct provenance from Gosfield Hall, Essex - previously a Royal Palace. Sold as part of one of the greatest house sales of all times, the āSale of the Royal House of Hanoverā, auctioned by Sothebyās in 2005 from the Schloss Marienberg, Hanover. The chaise is in found, country house condition as you can see, but structurally sound - worn with a great patina. With itās original covering of the highest quality leather over horsehair stuffing, mahogany frame and wonderfully turned legs mounted on brass casters. We wanted to leave it in itās original condition as this is such an important piece of history, but is also the perfect look for the moment.
